There are various options available when converting to 12V. These differ in the type of conversion and ultimately also in the price. The main question here should be what purpose the conversion should serve.
KEDO Plug-in regulator, item # 50544:
An uncomplicated 'plug-and-play' conversion that requires no in-depth technical knowledge. Here, the standard regulator and rectifier are replaced with the KEDO Plug-in regulator. Furthermore, all lamps, battery, horn and the flasher relay must be replaced with 12V versions. For a better light output of the headlight, the original headlight insert with BA20D bulb can be swapped for a modern headlight, H4 bulb. The classic look is retained thanks to the original embossed headlight glass. Headlight and taillight will continue to be operated by AC voltage, which is no problem as long as no LED bulbs are to be used. The ignition system is not changed by the conversion, the original contact ignition remains. Important: the output of the alternator does not change! The electrical resistance (in cables and especially the contact points) has less effect at 12V than at 6V. We recommend using an AGM-type battery (Motobatt for example)
